Chennai Super Kings Set to Play All 'Home' Indian Premier League Matches in Ranchi

Chennai Super Kings will lose out on 'true' home support because the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium has not got clearance from the Tamil Nadu Municipal Corporation due to illegal constructions.

Ranchi is all set to be Chennai Super Kings 'home' for this year's Indian Premier League. This means local hero Mahendra Singh Dhoni will be making more trips home than he normally does during a hectic cricket season because CSK are likely to play all their 'home' IPL matches at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi.

The JSCA Stadium, which was allotted two of CSK's matches this year, is likely to host the remainder three. A final decision will be made by the IPL Governing Council on Saturday. Chennai will also lose the right to host a couple of play-offs. The first qualifier and eliminator are likely to move to Bangalore and Mumbai, respectively. Chennai fans will feel denied because of a deadlock between stadium authorities and the state administration. The Tamil Nadu Municipal Corporation is yet to give 'NOC' to three stands which it claims have been illegally constructed at Chepauk.

CSK had a home match against RCB scheduled on May 18, followed by another match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on May 22. Apart from that, Chepauk would have hosted a Qualifier on May 27 and an Eliminator on May 28.
