India may find tough time in SA: Steyn

South African speedster Dale Steyn feels that wickets in India are not conducive for fast bowling. He said the wickets in India are lot flatter than what it is in South Africa. It does make it a little bit difficult for the Indian batsmen. "Coming to South Africa, it is a difficult place to play cricket," said the world's highest rated bowler.

India drew the Test series 1-1 during their previous tour of South Africa in 2010-11. Steyn, however, believes over the last few years, the wickets in South Africa have slowed up quite a bit. "Still, our bowlers are able to control the line and length a lot more. It's my personal opinion," he said.

India will tour South Africa for three Tests, seven ODIs and two Twenty20s beginning in December this year and extending to early 2014. Steyn said they have got a pretty good Test side at the moment, to be fair, and they play quite well at home. "I would like to say that we would win," he said.

India A team is set to tour South Africa in June but the number, types of matches or the opposition have not been decided yet.

The tour would be crucial for the future of Indian cricket as the senior team is set to tour South Africa and the India A tour could be the ideal tuning up for the tough task ahead in November-December. South Africa would be missing key players like Jacques Kallis and Graeme Smith, but Steyn is confident that the youngsters are capable of performing well.

Indian bowlers tend to lose pace over time and Steyn said, "Conditions definitely help. If you are playing in the right conditions, there is always motivation to bowl fast."
