"I don't know what he has to do," Dalmiya responded when asked if Srinivasan should resign as the BCCI president. "Some of the newspapers have given absolutely nonsensical reports that I have asked him not to resign.
Why should I and who am I (to do so)?" said the former BCCI chief.
During an interaction with the media at the Eden Gardens, the CAB president stressed on the need to "clean up" the game. "As far as the cleaning is concerned, we are losing the opportunity fast," he said, even as he frowned upon what he called "entertainment cricket".
"There used to be exhibition games, offshore cricket; we stopped Canada and Singapore cricket. If someone says he doesn't know what cleaning up of cricket is or what entertainment cricket is, I can pity him."
Saying that he was not about to "subscribe to your one-point agenda", he said he was not averse to government intervention.
