Indian batting champion Rahul Dravid has lived with the reputation of being one of the calmest characters and true patron of the gentleman's game. A rare glimpse of his ‘volatile’ side made the Wall blush in Ahmedabad on Tuesday night. (Indian Premier League 2015 complete coverage | Stats | Points table)
The former India skipper was seen blushing, wearing a sheepish smile and shaking his head before burying his face in his palms during the Indian Premier League clash between Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians, after an angry Dravid footage from IPL 2014 encounter was played on the big screen.
In a nerve-wracking contest last year, Mumbai Indians had chased down Rajasthan Royals' mammoth total of 189 in just 14.4 overs to edge their opposition for a final-four spot.
The tense moments of that high-stakes game made Dravid display rare, extreme emotions. As Aditya Tare hit the winning runs for Mumbai, Dravid was seen hurling his cap in frustration -- only for him to quietly go and pick it up himself.
Dravid has been a strong crusader of the gentleman’s game. Currently associated with Rajasthan Royals, Dravid has had a stunning effect on a team that banks on young Indians. You can’t get a better mentor than the Wall.
