Team India's Road to World Cup 2015 Semifinal

Defending champions India outclassed Bangladesh by 109 runs at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Thursday. With their 11th win on the trot, India romped into the semifinal of World Cup 2015 where the side will face the winner of Australia vs Pakistan quarterfinal. (Scorecard )


Here's taking a look at Team India's road to final:


Group stages:


India defeated Pakistan by 76 runs


India scored 300/7 courtesy Virat Kohli's 107. Shikhar Dhawan too scored 73 to bolster the side. Pakistan's chase was derailed by Mohammad Shami who claimed four for 35.


India defeated South Africa by 130 runs


Shikhar Dhawan smashed 137 off 146 to propel his team to 307. South Africa boasted of big hitters but none of them could fire as Ravichandran Ashwin's spin got him three for 41.


India defeated UAE by 9 wickets


Bowling first for the first time in the tournament, India dismissed UAE for 102. Ashwin was in the wickets once again and claimed four for 25. Rohit remained unbeaten on 57 to take his team to an easy win.


India defeated West Indies by 4 wickets


Shami's three for 35 helped India bowl out West Indies for 182. In what was a tricky WACA pitch, the defending champions were put to the test before MS Dhoni (45*) stitched together a mature knock to help his team past the winning line.


India defeated Ireland by 8 wickets


Ireland smashed 259 courtesy Neil O'Brien (75) and William Porterfield (67). In reply, Dhawan hit 100 and Rohit smashed 64 to help India win in 36.5 overs.


India defeated Zimbabwe by 6 wickets


Zimbabwe put up a brave fight against India and scored 287. Captain Brendan Taylor hit 138 in what was his final match for his country. In reply, India's top-order was tested with openers gone by 7th over. It was time for Suresh Raina to shine and he did with an unbeaten 110.


India defeated Bangladesh by 109 runs


Rohit Sharma's 137 helped India score a daunting 302 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Bangladesh chase could never really take off with Shami and Umesh Yadav bowling at full tilt.
