Sachin Tendulkar made it a habit to break cricket's batting records. More than a year after retiring from cricket, Tendulkar continues to break records, this time in social media.
Tendulkar broke the 5-million followers barrier on micro-blogging site, Twitter. He is the second man after India's latest cricket superstar Virat Kohli to have such a huge following. (Never Thought I Would Cry After a Win, But We All Did: MS Dhoni Reveals Joy of World Cup Triumph)
According to a press release, Tendulkar (@sachin_rt) has 5021667 followers as on February 3, 2015. Kohli (@imvkohli) leads with 5359129. India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni (@msdhoni) is a distant third with 3475514 followers. Virender Sehwag and Yuvraj Singh are fourth and fifth on this list. Tendulkar's tweets on cricket are few and far between these days. Having taken on several roles, he tweets on social issues, including casting your vote during elections. He made his Twitter debut on May 4, 2010.
