India still have some batting left in their ranks with the explosive MS Dhoni and reliable R. Ashwin due in later. Australia will need some early wickets to claw back into the game. It should be an interesting second day's play in Brisbane.

The excruciating heat in Brisbane on the first day of the second Test between Australia and India made conditions far worse than in Mumbai and Chennai, Ajinkya Rahane said after his unbeaten 75 steered the visitors to 311/4 at stumps.
