South Africa leads the five-match series 1-0 after a sensational 1-run victory in the low-scoring first game on Wednesday.
Pakistan kept faith in the same playing 11 despite losing the last six wickets for 17 runs in Sharjah while chasing 183 runs.
South Africa also named an unchanged squad, which means another chance for opening batsman Colin Ingram, who hasn't scored in his last three one-day internationals.
The Proteas are without its two key players. Hashim Amla flew back home after the first Test defeat last month to be with his pregnant wife. Fast bowler Dale Steyn will rejoin for the third one-day international after being rested.
