Leicester: Inclement weather prevented any action during the first session of the second day's play in the opening tour fixture between the touring Indian side and Leicestershire, here on Friday.
India were comfortably placed at 333 for four at the end of first day's play with Shikhar Dhawan (60), Gautam Gambhir (54) and Cheteshwar Pujara (57), all scoring half-centuries.
Rohit Sharma (43*) and Ajinkya Rahane (47*) were also close to the 50-run mark.
After heavens opened up, the first session was called off due to a wet outfield.
While the rain stopped during the afternoon, the covers were still on and the umpires hadn't carried out their mandatory inspection.
The chances of a start of proceedings looked dim as more showers are expected late in the afternoon.
The weather forecast for the final day is also very gloomy which effectively means that Indian bowlers might not get quality match time unlike their batsmen, who got to spend some time out there in the middle.
