Sri Lanka tour of England Scheduled from 13 May to 24 June 2014 for a Twenty20 International (T20), Five One Day Internationals (ODIs) and Two Test matches against the England cricket team at The Kia Oval, Emirates Durham ICG, Emirates Old Trafford, Lord’s and Edgbaston. They are also scheduled to play Three one-day and One four-day tour matches against English county sides, as well as preceding the entire tour with a two-match ODI series against Ireland.
The tourists, who will be touring England for the first time since 2011, will then play a two-match Investec Test series with the first Test Match due to be staged at Lord’s and the second at Headingley – both in June.
Sri Lanka cricket has always had a distinct flair. Sri Lankan cricket experienced a high point in 1996, when led by the unique genius of Aravinda de Silva, Sri Lanka triumphed in the ODI World Cup in India. The revolutionary attacking tactics of Sri Lanka’s batting set a blue print for future generations of batsmen and transformed the shorter form of the game. Always entertaining and often effective, Sri Lanka cricket is as good as any in the world.
