IPL 7: Virat Kohli Rues 'Lack of Yorkers' in Royal Challengers Bangalore's Loss to Sunrisers Hyderabad

Royal Challengers Bangalore suffered a seven-wicket loss to Sunrisers Hyderabad, thus, opening up the race for the playoffs.

Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli blamed his bowlers for not getting their yorkers on target in their seven-wicket defeat to Sunrisers Hyderabad on Tuesday. This result opened up the race for the playoffs, with Sunrisers Hyderabad in fifth spot with 10 points and Royal Challengers Bangalore in fourth spot with 10 points in the points table, ahead only by marginal Net Run Rate. "We did pretty well to get 160 on this wicket. Hyderabad batted well initially, with 20 needed from last two overs, we were backing ourselves. But we did not pull the yorkers off. We started slowly with the bat and while fielding also Hyderabad played better cricket" Kohli said.

Kohli looked in a sublime touch as he roared back to form to score his first half-century this season and took his team to a fighting 160 for six. But the skipper said he was never bothered by his poor form.

"I was not bothered much about me not scoring. I just need the team to win," adding, "we pulled things back towards the middle but the execution was not right at the end. The wicket actually played better under lights."

Chasing 161 for a win, a 100-run opening stand between Shikhar Dhawan (50) and David Warner (59) laid the platform for Sunrisers Hyderabad's successful run-chase.
