"Well, to be honest, I haven't seen any great talent who can actually give the ball a tweak, one who can take wickets on any surface. We need to set up academies. There is a lot of talent in the country, we just need to tap it. Spin bowling is an art but there is definite dearth of quality spinners at present in the domestic circuit," Bhajji told reporters.
Harbhajan said it was good for a spinner to have variations but one should stick to basics.
"Each bowler needs to possess a stock delivery. Whether you hold the ball cross-seam or seam-up, you have to bowl off-spinners. It's good to have variations but at the end of the day you need to stick to basics. That's your job. Kapil Dev in earlier days or Dale Steyn now have an outswinger as their stock ball. Similarly for an off-spinner, it's off-break," he said.
When asked about Ravichandran Ashwin's mysterious new action, Harbhajan said he hadn't seen him bowl.
"I haven't seen the recent matches. I wouldn't like to make any comment about a current India player."
