NEW DELHI: The BCCI is looking to make at least Rs 5000 crore - close to 21% of ICC's revenue - from ICC's revenues between 2015 and 2023 if the new draft proposals are cleared. "As per BCCI's calculations, the board could make Rs 5000 crore in the coming eight years," a top BCCI official told TOI on Thursday.
Between 2007 and 2015, BCCI is likely to make around Rs 332 crore ($52m) from all commercial gains of the ICC, an amount unacceptable to the Indian board which generates most of ICC's revenues. "If more than 80% of the money is coming from India, there is no reason why we should get only 4% of the total revenue," the official explained.
As per the proposed draft pushed by BCCI, England ( ECB) would get 8% of the revenue while Cricket Australia would make over 7%. The rest of the Test playing nations, whose representatives are also the part of ICC's executive committee, would make between 3 to 4 per cent of the total revenue.
