No wonder then Virat Kohli, who was one of the architects of India's successful chase, was pleased with the way his team chased down the target.
"It was not bad bowling from our opponents but good batting from our batsmen that won us the game. We played percentage shots and we batted really well. Obviously it wasn't a flat batting wicket like the one we got for the Australia series. We had to adapt to this wicket and that is so good about this victory," said Virat Kohli, who was declared Man of the Match.
Kohli admitted that a total of 260 would have been a tricky target to chase on this wicket.
"Obviously a total of 260-270 would have been more challenging. We chased this target down easily as it was low. A few runs more to chase, the victory wouldn't have come so easily to us," added Kohli.
Rival skipper Dwayne Bravo admitted that they were outplayed in the game.
"Indians are in very good form at the moment. They have world class batsmen and they made run scoring look easy on that pitch. We had set ourselves a target of 280 to score on this pitch. But unfortunately we kept losing wickets at regular intervals," said Bravo.
