Perth Scorchers falter after good start

NEW DELHI: After being put into bat first and getting a decent start, Perth Scorchers lost the plot as they lost quick wickets in the Champions League Twenty20 match at the Feroze Shah Kotla in New Delhi on Wednesday.

Openers Ashton Agar and Simon Katich put up a steady 55-run partnership for the opening wicket before Pragyan Ojha got the better of both Agar's (35) and Katich's (13) stumps in one over.

Sam Whiteman and Hilton Cartwright then gave the Scorchers some respite when they stitched a swift 58-run partnership for the third wicket before Nathan Coulter-Nile dismissed Cartwright (28) and new batsman Ashton Turner in successive deliveries.

Earlier, Mumbai Indians won the toss and elected to bowl against Perth Scorchers.

Million-dollar man Glenn Maxwell comes in for Mitchell Johnson in the Mumbai side, while Brad Hogg returns to the XI for Scorchers.
