The new-look team, minus a few players yet to arrive in the city, took part in an optional training session at the Karnataka State Cricket Association on Friday.
Skipper Yuvraj and Bangalore boy Robin Uthappa were among the first to test their skills against local pace bowlers as well as the feisty Praveen Kumar and Jaydev Unadkat, before the spinners came on with Rahul Sharma leading the pack.
Yuvraj may not have played in India colours since the one-day internationals against England early in the year but the left-hander looked fit for what will be his bid to make it back to the senior side.
Yuvraj rolled his arm over once his stint at the crease was over. Other batsmen including wicketkeeper Naman Ojha then went through the rigours of afternoon session.
West Indies 'A' trained at the KSCA (B) ground minus vice-captain Veerasammy Permaul who will join the squad on Saturday. Windies paceman Miguel Cummins hoped his team would be able to give a good account of themselves against a tough Indian second string.
"We have just begun our preparations for Sunday's game. We are getting ready, hoping for a good outing," he said. "They are a very strong team, their batting is strong and they have good bowlers. We have to play well," the 23-year-old from Barbados said.
India 'A' squad: For three ODs and one-off T20: Yuvraj Singh (captain), Unmukt Chand, Robin Uthappa, Baba Aparajith, Kedhar Jadhav, Naman Ojha, Yusuf Pathan, Irfan Pathan, Jaydev Unadkat, Praveen Kumar, Sumit Narwal, Shahbaz Nadeem, Mandeep Singh, Rahul Sharma.
