Bravo reached his half-ton in 37 balls with the help of three boundaries and as many sixes.
Pacer Ishant Sharma gave Sunrisers Hyderabad second breakthrough by dismissing Evin Lewis (22 off 14) after a brisk 49-run stand for the second wicket.
Lewis edged Sharma straight to the man behind the stumps leaving Hyderabad two down in the sixth over.
Lewis and Darren Bravo rescued Trinidad & Tobago from early blow and put up 49-run stand in 34 balls.
Dale Steyn struck on the first delivery of the match to send back Lendl Simmons after Hyderabad invited Trinidad & Tobago to bat in the CLT20 clash.
Steyn got Simmons (0) caught behind by Parthiv Patel, giving Hyderabad a terrific start.
"The pitch still has some dampness because of the rain. This is the ground where we have chased which should be easy to do here. We played all our qualifiers here, so we know the ground well which will give us an advantage," said Hyderabad captain Shikhar Dhawan.
"The ball will move around in the first couple of overs. Once the batsmen are set, they can lead the team to a big total and not leave it for the rest. We have experience in our side in the form of Darren Bravo, Simmons, who should come to the party tonight," said T&T captain Denesh Ramdin.
Sunrisers have brought in Thisara Perera and Hanuma Vihari.
