"Continuing in his job after the Bombay HC order will be a criminal act. This isn't the end of the matter and we will take up the issue in Parliament," Sahai said, adding: "Srinivasan is still trying to cling to power and some of the BCCI members have become his stooges. From Dawood to Srinivasan, they all want to hijack the BCCI. We are warning, cautioning and appealing to him to stay away. Is the BCCI above the country's laws and Parliament?"
Sahai - who backed Cricket Association of Bihar petitioner Aditya Verma's PIL in the Bombay HC - also did not rule out further legal action against the BCCI boss. Verma, on his part, said he would proceed with a "criminal petition" against Srinivasan if he attended the meet. "He has no authority to chair the working committee. In case he does, we will file criminal contempt of court charges against him," Verma said.
Legal experts in the know of the BCCI's affairs, however, confirmed to TOI that such a move was not legally tenable.
