Finding 10 signatories for holding a meeting won't be a problem at this stage, but 24 still looks a far cry at this moment. Even though it's believed that the state units over which Congress can exercise its power will vote in favour of an impeachment motion of Srinivasan, the BJP stance is not yet clear.
BJP controls five votes ( Gujarat Cricket Association, Saurashtra Cricket Association, Baroda Cricket Association, Delhi District Cricket Association and Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association) and if Srinivasan gets even two of these five, it will be difficult to oust him.
Srinivasan has the TNCA vote, and it's likely that Tripura Cricket Association, Jharkhand Cricket Association, J&K Cricket Association and Kerala Cricket Association will cast their votes in his favour. Orissa Cricket Association's Ranjib Biswal, too, has enjoyed a lot of privileges during the Srinivasan regime and he, too, may toe the pro-Srinivasan line.
Jagmohan Dalmiya, too controls two votes, and in a tight situation it won't be a surprise if he casts one in favour of Srinivasan. In addition to that, the TN strongman has the president's vote, and it won't be a surprise if he reaches the 12 mark.
"If Srinivasan doesn't resign on his own and pushes it to a Special General Meeting, it might not be too easy to beat him," a BCCI source told the TOI.
