Sharma score just 14 and shared 30-run stand with Kieron Pollard after Mumbai lost Dinesh Karthik and Aditya Tare in quick succession.
Pravin Tambe and Kevon Cooper removed Dinesh Karthik and Aditya Tare respectively to reduce Mumbai Indians to 108/3.
Tare slammed a brilliant 59 off just 37 balls while Karthik scored 21 in as many balls. The duo shared 76-run stand for the second wicket before falling in quick succession.
Tare was more aggressive in his approach as he dominated Rajasthan attack with big hits after the loss of opener Glenn Maxwell.
Shane Watson gave Rajasthan first success by dismissing Mumbai opener Glenn Maxwell at the score of 25 in the fourth over after visitors elected to bowl.
Maxwell scored 23 off 17 balls with the help of three sixes and got Mumbai off to a good start before getting trapped leg before by Watson.
Mumbai dropped an injured Sachin Tendulkar and brought in Aditya Tare. Dwayne Smith's been rested too, giving Glenn Maxwell a second chance.
The winner of this contest will be assured of not just the playoff berth, they will also get the privilege of finishing in the top two and earning themselves the cushion of getting two cracks to contest the final.
On the face of it, it's a battle between a team that loves playing at home (MI are unbeaten in seven games at Wankhede this season) and another (Royals have lost four of their six away games) that doesn't like travelling.
