This inspired Lyon and the Aussie bunch to attack incessantly and keep India's lead down to minimum as batting last here could be a very difficult proposition.
"On this pitch, even a score of 100 will be tough to chase down," Lyon said.
However, Murali Vijay, while conceding it's getting tougher to bat, asserted that India would chase down any target set by the visitors.
"It (the pitch) is getting lower and slower and the cracks are opening up. It's tough to judge the pace of the pitch and to find gaps. But we can chase down anything they set. Having said that, the match is evenly poised at the moment," Vijay said.
The in-form opener was quick to point out that the Indian team was not rattled by the aggressive Australians.
"They have been aggressive throughout the series. It's just that we did our stuff better. The spat in the field is part and parcel of the game," he said.
Lyon had something different to say: "What happens in the field, stays in the field. We don't cross the line but we did push the limit. Wish, we had done it earlier," the Australian off-spinner said.
