Aus 170/8 at lunch on Day 5, lead by 79

NEW DELHI: Indian spinners were on a roll as they dismissed Australian batsmen at regular intervals on the fifth and final day of the third Test at PCA Stadium in Mohali.

Scorecard

Pragyan Ojha increased Australia's misery by removing Peter Siddle to leave them tottering at 143/8.

Ravindra Jadeja has done it again, removing Michael Clarke for the fifth time in the series to leave Australia in tatters. Clarke looked to flick but got a thin inside edge towards Cheteshwar Pujara at short leg.

Australia suffered another blow soon after Clarke's dismissal when Phillip Hughes was given wrongly given LBW off Ravichandran Ashwin.

Jadeja struck again to rattle Australia when Moises Henriques played uppishly well to the left of the bowler, ho dived full length to take this with both hands.

Pragyan Ojha struck to give India early breakthrough as he removed Nathan Lyon. Phillip Hughes and nightwatchman Lyon resumed Australian innings on Day 5, adding 14 runs to their overnight score before the latter was dismissed at the score of 89.

Skipper Clarke, who suffered a back injury on Sunday, came to bat on and smashed two boundaries in quick succession to take Australia past India's first innings lead.

Australia ended the fourth and penultimate day at 75/3, trailing by 16 runs, after bowling out India to 499 in their first innings.

At stumps, Phillip Hughes (53 batting) is fighting hard in company of nightwatchman Nathan Lyon (4).

Whatever Australians gained in the first two sessions on Day 4, was surrendered, when they lost three quick wickets, all to Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

Bhuvneshwar produced a brilliant spell to remove openers David Warner (2), Ed Cowan (8) and Steven Smith (5), who was promoted ahead of injured captain Michael Clarke.

India lead the series 2-0 after convincing wins in Chennai and Hyderabad, and seemed to be on course to clinch the series.
