The next cricket match of World cup 2011 between India and South Africa will be much different that other matches before. The main star cast of movie Dum Maro Dum including Abhishek Bachchan, Bipasha Basu and Deepika Padukone will be present in the gallery to launch item songs of the movie and also to cheers the Indian cricket team in blue. The India Vs SA match will be played at Vidarbha Cricket Stadium, Nagpur on Feb 14th.
Though the launch of the item song was not planned initially but its response and request from the fans have made Rohan Shippy to take the step. He wanted Deepika Padukone to perform live during the cricket match but plan has to be cancelled as actress is busy shooting for Prakash Jha film Aarakshan in Bhopal and could not take time out for rehearsal. The movie is directorial debut for Mr. Shippy.
Dum Maro Dum item song will be promoted during the breaks during the match. This is the first time when an song has been promoted in any World cup cricket match.
The movie has already shared its share of controversies. First people from Goa showed displeasure as it highlighted rave party and drugs in the state. Dev Anand original song Dum Maro Dum song fame was not happy with the using the idea. Abhishek Bachchan plays role of a cop in the movie and Bipasha Basu is his lady love. Before this movie Jr. Bachchan has played cop's role in Dhoom 2.
