Injury-ridden England will face Canada in their first warm-up match on Wednesday in Dhaka.

They are without key batsman Eoin Morgan, who was forced out of the tournament with a broken finger.

With Tim Bresnan also out with a calf injury, England's resources are so thin that they are seeking permission to allow Chris Tremlett, who was not part of the 15-man squad, to feature in the game.

Stuart Broad, whose Ashes campaign ended after the second Test because of a stomach injury, has now fallen ill and will miss England’s campaign against Canada.

However, Ian Bell insists England can thrive in such adversity and bounce back from their 6-1 mauling at the hands of Australia in the one-day series Down Under.

Captain Andrew Strauss declared England have come to the sub-continent to win the elusive ICC Cricket World Cup and the team will execute that intent starting Wednesday. Jonathan Trott, Alastair Cook, Kevin Pietersen and the skipper himself will look to get their act together in their two practices matches after a forgetful ODI series against the Aussies.

Jonathan Trott is a man on a mission it seems as he performed tirelessly in Australia and a lot will depend on him if England have to do well in the ICC CWC. Strauss also needs to handle his resources well and the team line-up would be very crucial for them and these warm up matches are perfect to find the stable line up.

Canada’s squad is a mix of lot of players of sub-continent origin, something that keep them in good stead. Skipper Ashish Bagai is one of their key players and has been in striking form.

Canada may not be in England’s league but the Ashes winners will look to field a full-strength squad and play like it’s the real deal.
