The entire Indian cricket team, including captain MS Dhoni, is expected to attend the wedding. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was reportedly invited, has sent his good wishes.
The 28-year-old all-rounder is scheduled to reach Delhi at about 6 this evening and go straight to the hotel. The groom's team is scheduled to play its first Indian Premier League or IPL match next week on April 9.
That leaves no time for a honeymoon and Raina is learnt to have postponed those plans will after the IPL.
Media reports said Priyanka's family has been close friends with Raina's for a long time now. Her father was reportedly Suresh Raina's sports teacher in Ghaziabad. The bride-to-be works in the Netherlands.
Sources close to the family confirmed to NDTV that Dhoni, who is also Raina's CSK captain, will be present with his wife and baby daughter Ziva, as will other teammates Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli.
Raina's UP teammates - including India cricketers RP Singh and Praveen Kumar - will also attend the wedding.
While Raina was busy training in Chennai today, his family prepped for the big occasion at their home in Ghaziabad, which has been lavishly decorated with flowers and lights. Relatives arrived adding to the celebratory cheer.
Suresh Raina is seen here at one of the pre-wedding ceremonies. He has been flying in and out of Delhi in the days leading up to the wedding.
A VVIP security cordon has been thrown around the wedding venue, the Leela in New Delhi's Chanakyapuri, with several celebrities expected to attend.
Raina, a stylish middle order batsman, has played 218 ODIs and 18 Tests. He was stationed in Australia for the past four months for a four-Test series, a tri-series and later the World Cup and returned only last week.
