Hamilton: Ireland captain William Porterfield won the toss and opted to bat in the World Cup Pool B match against defending champions India in Napier on Tuesday.

Ireland, who need one win from their last two matches to earn a berth in the next round, made one change from the side which defeated Zimbabwe at Hobart with seamer Stuart Thompson replacing spinner Andy McBrine .
