Pakistan's Century-Less Misbah-ul-Haq Creates Captaincy Record With Another ODI Fifty

Misbah-ul-Haq finally had a smile on his face when Pakistan earned their first points with a close 20-run win over Zimbabwe in their crunch Group B World Cup tie in Brisbane on Sunday. Electing to bat, skipper Misbah recorded his 40th fifty to help Pakistan recover from four for two to post a competitive 235 for seven. In reply, Zimbabwe were bowled out for 215 courtesy Mohammad Irfan's career-best four for 30 and Wahab Riaz's four for 45.



With his 73 off 121 deliveries, Misbah became the first Pakistan captain to record 25 half-centuries in ODIs. He has now taken his tally to 4928 runs at an average of 43.22 without a hundred in 158 matches. He already holds the record for most matches without a century. His best is 96 not out. Misbah has his team's best two scores in the ongoing World Cup - 76 against India and 73 on Sunday.

Pakistan have one win from 3 games and face an uphill battle to ensure a place in the last eight.

Abdul Razzaq - 62 vs New Zealand at Pallekele on March 8, 2011 - was the first to accomplish the feat.



# Riaz is the first Pakistani all-rounder and the eighth in the World Cup to accomplish the double of 50 runs and 4 wickets.



# Shahid Afridi is the only Pakistani all-rounder to have achieved the double of 50 runs and four wickets three times in ODIs.



# In their first ten overs, Pakistan managed only 14 Runs - their second lowest in an ODI after ten overs. Their lowest in the first ten overs is 8, losing two wickets vs South Africa at Cape Town on February 11, 2007. The break-up of scores after every over being 0/1, 1/1, 1/1, 3/1, 3/1, 5/1, 6/1, 6/2, 7/2 and 8/2.



# Mohammad Irfan (4/30) has produced his career-best bowling performance in ODis, surpassing the 4 for 33 vs South Africa at Centurion on March 15, 2013.
