India might have crashed out of the World Cup but captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni played a stellar knock. The Indian skipper held fort and kept the hopes alive for the Indian fans till he was run-out by an excellent piece of fielding by Glenn Maxwell. (Match Report )

After the game, as usual, Dhoni was his candid self. (Dhoni Goes Down Fighting )

When asked about his future plans, Dhoni chose to stay clear of a concrete answer and poked fun at the media by asking them to keep up their "research" and speculations.

"What's important for me is to do something special all the time to contribute to a win", said Dhoni, "The day I pack my bags, I will pack it and I will be happy." Dhoni surprised many when he quit Test cricket during the recent series in Australia.

"Our batting can chase 300 plus scores, we have done it a number of times. Today it didn't go according to plan." (Smith's Golden Summer )

Dhoni, however, in his own way reminded that his team doesn't really possess a strong lower-order.

"Our lower order have not been able to contribute", Dhoni said, "if it was not for Rahane and me, we could have folded for much less."

He also didn't forget to remind everyone that India were not a fancied side while coming into the World Cup. Dhoni said that it was the fun dressing room atmosphere that kept the spirits up.

"The tour was a tough one for us. Tests didn't go our way, ODIs didn't go our way. It was important to have a good dressing room atmosphere. If you have that it is slightly easy to come back into form."

The Indian skipper, as usual, was supportive of his mates and said that it was important that he pushed himself back.

"I had to push myself back so that Virat, Rohit and Ajinkya could bat at the top. Health of the batting order is good if Jinx (Rahane) is batting at four and me at five", concluded the Indian captain.
