Yuvraj Singh at the Goa India Bike Week

Even as Team India went on a dominating run in the ICC Cricket World Cup, their hero of the 2011 triumph, Yuvraj Singh spent time away from the glitz in Australia and New Zealand at the Goa India Bike Week, the largest biking festival in India with more than 12,000 riders and bike enthusiasts ride cross-country to Goa to celebrate the spirit and lifestyle of the Indian biking community. Like his close friend and India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Yuvraj is also known for his enthusiasm for automobiles. Last week, the flamboyant cricketer was roped in by Delhi Daredevils for a record Rs 16 crore in the eighth edition of the Indian Premier League despite the Indian selectors' reluctance to get Yuvraj back on board. Yuvraj rode all the way from Delhi to Chandigarh on a bike borrowed from a friend and now with his passion growing further he has expressed his interest to be a part of India Bike Week in 2016, possibly his own ride.
Yuvraj played the last of his 293 ODIs in December 2013. After leading India to the World Cup title in 2011 with a brilliant all-round performance, he was sidelined with a rare cancer. However, despite successfully battling the fatal illness, he could never again cement his place in the Indian team and lost out to much younger and fitter cricketers. But the man from Punjab still harbours hopes of an India comeback and has been a consistent scorer in the Ranji Trophy, slamming three successive hundreds last year.
