MS Dhoni opted to bat first after winning the toss against South Africa at the icnonic Melbourne Cricket Ground. While Team India remains unchanged, South Africa bring in Wayne Parnell for the match.
The pitch for the match has a tinge of green and many believe it will aid pacers to a large extent.
The Indian team has never defeated South Africa in a World Cup match. The Proteas have a 3-0 head-to-head record here. The added advantage of having Gary Kirsten - coach of the World Cup 2011 winning Indian team - will further bolster the Proteas. Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar though would be cheering for India from the stands.
