Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar came out to support Team India against South Africa during Sunday's Pool B World Cup match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. This was the former batsman's first World Cup match from the stands after featuring in six editions of the showpiece event of international cricket.
Fans at the MCG - dominated by the Indian blue - cheered every boundary on the field but their biggest roar was each time Tendulkar appeared on the giant TV screen here. Wearing a lavender shirt and black sunglasses, the revered superstar waved towards his fans - humble as ever despite the grand reception. He was also seen clicking a selfie.
Tendulkar reached Melbourne on Saturday to cheer for the Indian team. Several players in the current squad are themselves big fans of the iconic former batsman and would have surely used his tips to tackle an unrelenting South African pace attack.
