The Supreme Court on Monday, will hear a contempt petition against BCCI's president-in-exile N. Srinivasan for presiding the board's Working Committee Meeting on February 8 .
The petition filed by Cricket Association of Bihar says though the top court disqualified Srinivasan from participating in any Board meetings, he had attended the Working Committee Meeting and action be taken against Srinivasan for disobeying Court orders.
On January 22, the Supreme Court held that no one who had any commercial interests in BCCI events including Srinivasan would be eligible to contest elections for any post whatsoever. Srinivasan had been clearly told by the Supreme Court that he won't be able to stand for presidential elections unless he completely dissociates himself with the India Cements-owned Chennai Super Kings.
The petition says BCCI replied to Cricket Association of Bihar's legal notice saying Srinivasan's presence at the Working Committee Meeting was cleared by the Supreme Court and he was within his rights to attend the meeting.
Srinivasan had attended the meeting in his capacity as Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) president.
