The World Cup is up and running Down Under but that doesn't take the spotlight away from the highly-followed Indian Premier League. From Aussie demolisher Aaron Finch to Kiwi all-rounder Kane Williamson will be keenly following the proceedings in Bangalore where the player auctions of the IPL 2015 edition will be held. IPL 2015 will take place between April 8 to May 24.
09.15 (IST): Doug Bollinger has just taken a hat-trick in the Sheffield Shied and has left Chennai Super Kings wondering:
08.20 (IST): Another interesting name in the auction will be Hashim Amla. The South African has been in fine form on national duty but will he have any takers in the IPL?
08.06 (IST): Tom Moody, the coach of Sunrisers Hyderabad, is all ready for the auctions. It goes underway in Bangalore in a little over an hour from now.

Teams in spotlight
While teams like Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders retained most of their squad from the IPL 2014 season, two teams - Delhi Daredevils and Sunrisers Hyderabad - have undergone a massive clearout. Delhi have released 13 players, including Kevin Pietersen, who was the captain of the side in IPL 2014. Even Dinesh Karthik, who fetched a whopping Rs 12.5 crore in last year's player auctions is back in the auction pool. Two other names that could be interesting buys will be Ross Taylor and Murali Vijay.
Hyderabad have let go of 12 members of their squad including names like Finch, Amit Mishra, Irfan Pathan and Darren Sammy. These two teams could be expected to spend big.
Next in line will be the likes of Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians. Bangalore have released seven of their players including the costliest buy of IPL 2014, Yuvraj Singh (Rs. 14 crore). They have also parted ways with Albie Morkel and Muttiah Muralitharan. Mumbai's only big-name release is Michael Hussey who warmed the bench in the first half of the tournament. It will be interesting to see if the Aussie veteran will attract any offers this time. Another prized catch in the auction could be that of Pragyan Ojha, who recently had his suspect bowling action cleared by the ICC. He will be eager to get back to the national side and a good IPL season will help him achieve that. Any takers for him? Only time will tell.
