The IPL auction for this year will be held on February 16 in Bangalore. The number of players in the auction pool is yet to be known as the deadline for franchises to prune the original list has been deferred to February 4.
According to a report in ESPNCricinfo.com, Yuvraj Singh and Kevin Pietersen are among those with the highest base price of Rs 2 crore.
Unlike 2014, this time the auction will be a shorter event, but for some franchises it will still be of importance. Delhi Daredevils and Royal Challengers Bangalore are expect to spend big after letting go some key players.
Royal Challengers have Rs. 21 crore in their purse after releasing Yuvraj who was the most expensive player last year. Though Yuvraj finished as the team's second highest run-scorer, Royal Challengers were just above Daredevils with five wins.
Sunrisers Hyderabad have Rs 208,500,000 after letting go of Aaron Finch, Darren Sammy and Amit Mishra. Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals have Rs. 13 crore each; Kings XI Punjab have Rs. 118,000,000, Mumbai Indians have Rs. 100,000,000 while Chennai Super Kings possess Rs. 50,000,000.
