Steve Smith's incredible summer continued to get better when he struck an unbeaten 102 to guide Australia to a three-wicket win against England in a tri-series ODI in Hobart on Friday. With George Bailey suspended for one match due to poor over-rate in the previous match, Smith's got the chance to lead for the first time in an ODI and he responded with a superb hundred.(Match Report)

Smith became the seventh player to register a hundred in ODIs on captaincy debut, joining Glenn Turner, Sachin Tendulkar, Richie Richardson, Sanath Jayasuriya, Gavin Hamilton and Michael Hussey (Irving Howard Romaine had made his captaincy debut for Bermuda vs Canada at Toronto on August 19, 2006. He could not bat in that game but posted a hundred in the next match vs Canada at Toronto on August 21, 2006 - 101 off 111 balls).
Smith's stunning 95 ball- knock is his first century vs England - his third in ODIs - his first two hundreds being 104 vs South Africa at Melboure on November 21, 2014 and 101 vs Pakistan at Sharjah on October 7, 2014.
Smith's fourth Man of the Match award in ODIs is his first vs England.
Smith, at 25 years 235 days, became the second youngest player to lead Australia in ODIs. Kim Hughes, at 25 years 134 days, was the youngest player to lead Australia - vs England at Lord's on June 9, 1979.
