Photos of several members of the Indian cricket team in high spirits at a New Year's eve party at a Sydney nightclub have emerged in social media. Reeling under a Test series loss against Australia, the photos have apparently left the visiting side blushing.

Fast bowler Ishant Sharma, who is not playing the fourth and final Test in Sydney due to an injury, is seen in buoyant mood. The photos in Indian Link Australia Facebook page show Ishant chugging champagne. Fellow pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Suresh Raina and Ravichandran Ashwin seem to be having a good time, even posing with nightclub dancers.

All four players are part of India's World Cup squad and will stay back in Australia for the tri-series starting January 14. India play their first match against Australia in Melbourne on January 16. England are the third team.

It is understood new Test captain Virat Kohli and girlfriend Anushka Sharma were at the same party but they left as they were not keen to be seen in such a public place.

Ahead of the Sydney Test, the Indian team has had a good time off the field. The team went on a dinner cruise on Parramatta River that has the magnificent Sydney Harbour Bridge across it. Kohli was accompanied by Anushka.

Usually on tours, the team is governed by a strict code of conduct. Given security risks, players are advised to follow curfew hours and normally don't venture out to night clubs.

India's bowlers have been sent on a leather hunt in the Sydney Test. The Australians have once again milked the Indian attack, scoring 572 for seven declared in their first innings. Pacer Mohammed Shami stood out with 5 for 112 as the Aussies rode centuries from skipper Steven Smith and David Warner.
