Mumbai: Mumbai selectors on Thursday made wholesale changes in the Ranji Trophy squad to take on Bengal in their fourth round group A cricket match in Kolkata from December 28-31.

The selection committee, headed by national panel chief Sandeep Patil, dropped six players who were in the squad that fought back from a difficult situation against Uttar Pradesh in Kanpur and scored their first outright win in three games.

The players who faced the axe were Hiken Shah, Bravish Shetty, Praful Waghela, Sushant Marathe, Vishal Dabholkar and Kevin Almeida.

They have been replaced in the 15-member squad by Shrideep Mangela, Siddhesh Lad, Akhil Herwadkar, Sufiyan Shaikh, Sarfaraz Khan and Iqbal Abdullah.

Squad: Suryakumar Yadav (captain), Abhishek Nayar, Aditya Tare, Shrideep Mangela, Siddhesh Lad, Akhil Herwadkar, Shreyas Iyer, Sufiyan Shaikh, Sarfaraz Khan, Iqbal Abdullah, Akshay Girap, Shardul Thakur, Wilkin Mota, Badre Alam, Kshemal Waingankar. Coach: Pravin Amre.
