After Rohit Sharma's scintillating knock of 264, the highest-ever individual ODI score beating Virender Sehwag's 219, batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar praised the Mumbaikar for his efforts. "I feel very happy for Rohit [Sharma].� I didn't get to see his innings but getting another double ton is special," Sachin Tendulkar told NDTV. (I wasn't tired after knock, says Rohit Sharma)
Rohit Sharma returned to the Indian side after a two-month injury layoff and smashed his way into the record books. His essay of 264 included 33 fours and 9 sixes.
This knock may have come at the right time for Rohit who is facing stiff competition for his place in the Indian ODI side.
"This is the perfect form of match practice and preparations before the Australian tour,"Sachin added.
India travel to Australia for a four-match Test series, starting on December 4 in Brisbane. That will be followed by a tri-series involving India, Australia and England in January 2015.
