Phillip Hughes' Death: Google Australia's Doodle Tribute

Doodle Australia Phillip Hughes

Google Australia pays tribute to Phillip Hughes.

Google Australia paid rich tribute to Australia's Phillip Hughes through a doodle. Hughes died on Thursday after being knocked out by a bouncer in a domestic Sheffield Shield game in Sydney on Tuesday. Hughes was 25.

Google Australia's doodle showed a bat rested on a wall, as the cricket fraternity started their '#putoutyourbats' campaign in honour of the cricketer, on social media websites. (Hughes Joins Ill-Fated Club of Cricketers)

Cricketers and fans from all over the world took to Twitter and uploaded images of their bats to pay their respect to Hughes. (Clarke Breaks Down, Australia United in Grief | Pics)

Meanwhile, a "broken" Sean Abbott faces rebuilding his life and career after delivering the ball that killed the Australian batsman. The 22-year-old was doing what he always does for his state New South Wales, bowling fast, when Hughes misjudged a short ball at the SCG on Tuesday and collapsed to the ground unconscious after being hit on the head. Hughes never recovered and died on Thursday after massive bleeding to the brain. It remains unclear when Hughes' funeral will take place. (Hughes Death Hard to Digest for Contractor)

There is still uncertainty over whether the first Test between India and Australia will go on as per schedule next week. India's second tour game against a Cricket Australia XI scheduled in Adelaide on Friday has already been cancelled. (Sri Lanka to Pay Silent Tribute)
