Mahendra Singh Dhoni needs six more runs to overtake Rahul Dravid and become the second highest run getter in ODIs at home. Dhoni has an aggregate of 3401 runs on home soil prior to the start of fourth ODI between India and West Indies at Dharamsala. Dravid's run aggregate is 3406. If Dhoni gets those six runs, then he would occupy the second place among Indian batsmen who have scored most runs on home soil. Sachin Tendulkar, with 6976 runs, occupies the first place. (India vs West Indies: Pace test awaits teams in Dharamsala)
The fourth game at Dharamsala between India and West Indies will be the 250th ODI for Dhoni. He would become the fourth wicket-keeper in the annals of ODIs to appear in 250-plus games. Others are - Kumar Sangakkara (336), Mark Boucher (294) and Adam Gilchrist (282).
Dhoni has other records in sight. He has scored 19 fifties as captain on home soil. One more fifty would be his 20th fifty. If he gets it, he would then become the third captain in the annals of one day games to score 20 plus fifties on home soil. Others are Ricky Ponting (25) and Graeme Smith (23).
Dhoni has scored 15 half centuries as captain on home soil. One more half century would fetch him his 16th half century and with it the second place amongst the captains who have scored most half centuries on home soil. Smith occupies the first place with 18 half centuries. Dhoni would go past Ponting and Allan Border, who have scored 15 fifties on his way to second place.
