Harare: Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe has hailed the national cricket team for its historic three-wicket win over Australia in an ODI in the ongoing triangular series here Sunday. (Related: Defeat rips open Australia's scars )
The Fox Sports reported that Mugabe, who is also the patron of Zimbabwe Cricket, was "very very happy" with the team's first win over Australia in 31 years.
Zimbabwe staged a huge upset, beating Australia by three wickets in their One-Day International clash at Harare Sports Club. (Related: Australia's loss helps India take top-spot in ODI rankings )
Zimbabwe and South Africa will play the final group match Thursday ahead of Saturday’s final.
