Manoj Tiwary, who has been in an out of the senior Indian team, will lead the India 'A' squad in two limited overs practice matches against the West Indies early next month.
The Bengal player, often done in by injuries, will skipper a number of players who will hope to make the India squad for next year's ICC World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
The India A team includes Unmukt Chand, Sanju Samson, Kedar Jadhav, Karn Sharma and Stuart Bunny among several other players who keep knocking at Team India door.
India 'A' will play two practice matches against the West Indians. The first match will be played Mumbai's Brabourne Stadium October 3 and the second at the Wankhede Stadium on October 5.
The West Indians are touring India for a five ODIs, one T20 and three Test matches. The first ODI will be played in Kochi on October 8.
The India A squad: Manoj Tiwary (captain), Unmukt Chand, Murali Vijay, Karun Nair, Kedar Jadhav, Sanju Samson, Stuart Binny, Parvez Rasool, Amit Mishra, Jasprit Bumrah, Dhawal Kulkarni, Rahul Shukla, Karn Sharma, Gurkeerat Singh Mann.
