Reports of Mahendra Singh Dhoni walking out of his team hotel after being refused from eating home-cooked biryani has unleashed a laugh riot on social media platforms. Dhoni and his Chennai Super Kings teammates checked out of the team hotel in Hyderabad after they reportedly barred from eating a dish sent by India teammate Ambati Rayudu. (Full report here )
While Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and CSK officials confirmed the team had switched hotels, the 'delicacy' was not confirmed. Netizens though found the entire episode too humorous to wait for confirmation. "Dhoni never loses his cool eh? Try denying him his biryani," read one message on micro-blogging website Twitter. "Dhoni and team walked out of hotel because they would not allow in Rayudu's home-made biryani. They know how to rice to the occasion," read another.
There were a several 'jibes' at Rayudu as well. "Dhoni feels more strongly about Rayudu's biryani than about Rayudu's batting ability. Heh," wrote a surfer. Interestingly, the Hyderabad batsman scored 117 runs from two recent ODIs against England. And while his cricket may helped India win the ODI series in England, it is Rayudu's biryani that seems to have been the most coveted prize on Wednesday.
