Champions League Twenty20: Cape Cobras' Sybrand Engelbrecht Named as Injured JP Duminy's Replacement

JP Duminy missed out on the 2014 Champions League Twenty20 competition due to an injury.

Hyderabad: Cape Cobras were dealt a severe blow on Friday after all-rounder JP Duminy was ruled out of the Champions League Twenty20 due to an injury and was replaced by Sybrand Engelbrecht.

"The CLT20 has confirmed that the Event Technical Committee of the tournament has approved Sybrand Engelbrecht as a replacement player for JP Duminy in the Cape Cobras squad for the tournament," a media advisory from the organisers said.

"JP Duminy was replaced due to an injury he sustained during South Africa's tri-series tournament in Zimbabwe, after which recent medical tests were done and reports were received," it said.

"The replacement of a player requires the approval of the Event Technical Committee before the replacement player can be officially added to the squad," the advisory added.
