After a sumptuous feast of traditional cricket, it's time again to return to the shortest format as leading players, including India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, get ready to represent their respective franchises in the sixth edition of the Champions League T20, with the qualifying rounds starting in Rapur on Saturday.
While the tournament proper starts on September 17 with perennial favourites Chennai Super Kings pitted against reigning IPL champions Kolkata Knight Riders, the start of qualifying rounds will feature defending CLT20 champions Mumbai Indians taking on a very talented Lahore Lions team led by former national T20 captain Mohammed Hafeez. Rohit Sharma Out, Pollard Mumbai Skipper
Dashing all-rounder Kieron Pollard has been named captain of the Mumbai Indians after shoulder injury and fractured finger forced regular captain Rohit Sharma to pull-out of the upcoming Champions League Twenty20, starting here from Saturday.
Defending champions Mumbai Indians will play in the qalifiers, starting their campaign against Lahore Lions.
Pollard has been one of the mainstays for Mumbai Indians having joined the franchise in the third season after his brilliant show for Trinidad and Tobago in the inaugural edition of the CLT20 back in 2009. (Read more)

Mohammad Hafeez vows to spread 'love' in India
After a rounds of speculation about Lahore Lions' participation and the eventual sanctioning of their Indian visas, skipper Mohammad Hafeez said, "We are going there with a message of love and I know how much they love Pakistan and the cricketers from our country," Hafeez told reporters,"Our aim is not only play good cricket in the field but also do good acts off the field. Both India and Pakistan love cricket and we are hoping to have a very good time there." (Read more)
