London: India's return to women's Test cricket after a gap of eight years saw them skittle out hosts England for 92 on the first day of four at Wormsley central England on Wednesday.

But before stumps India had collapsed to 87 for six.

India's Nagarajan Niranjana took four wickets on her Test debut, with England losing a new women's Test record seven wickets to lbw decisions.

Niranjana, after India won the toss, struck in the fourth over when she had Heather Knight lbw and she also accounted for fellow opener Lauren Winfield, England captain Charlotte Edwards and Lydia Greenway.

Sarah Taylor top-scored with 30 but Tammy Beaumont (12) and Natalie Sciver (10) were the only other batters to reach double figures, with England succumbing to their lowest ever total against India in 41.2 overs.

But England's Jenny Gunn hit back before the close with a miserly spell of four wickets for 13 runs in 12 overs after India had been 40 without loss.
