A selfie image tweeted by Piers Morgan that has greats like Sachin Tendulkar, Brian Lara, Muttiah Muralitharan and Kevin Pietersen all posing together.
Cricket's 'Big' boys are just having some fun ahead of Saturday's Lord's Bicentenary match between a MCC XI and a Rest of the World XI. Sachin Tendulkar, Brain Lara, Wasim Akram and Muthiah Muralitharan may have retired from the game, but it's nothing like hitting the nets again.
Kevin Pietersen, apart from bashing Alastair Cook's team for their Test series defeat against Sri Lanka, has been part of this 'exclusive' old boys' party. The charismatic KP remains a top draw even though he has no place in the England dressing room.
Pietersen has been training with Tendulkar and even got an opportunity to use the Little Master's bat. KP was simply thrilled.
On Monday, Tendulkar, Lara, Akram, Murali and Desmond Haynes played some fun cricket. It was a rare day for Pietersen, for sure.
Tendulkar, who will lead the MCC XI, is enjoying himself too. He went to Wimbledon and even clicked a selfie with Lara, Pietersen, Muralitharan and British journalist and television host Piers Morgan. Morgan tweeted the photo on Monday.
Marylebone Cricket Club last month confirmed that Lara will join an MCC XI captained by Tendulkar which will also include Australia's Aaron Finch, Rahul Dravid and Pakistan off-spinner Saeed Ajmal. The side will play a Rest of the World XI captained by former Australia leg spinner Shane Warne and featuring Muralitharan and Pietersen in a 50-over match on July 5.
Tendulkar said he and Lara played together in 1994 in Toronto in the Sky Dome. "We played for the same team and we had a wonderful partnership. So I'm hoping for another one this time," Tendulkar told reporters in Singapore last month.
