A record 371-run partnership between Western Australian teammates Mitchell Marsh and Sam Whiteman lifted Australia A to 522 for nine wickets at stumps on Day 3 of their four-day match against India A in Brisbane. Marsh scored a double century.

Marsh and Whiteman came together on Monday with Australia reeling at 99 for six and resumed play on Tuesday at 126 for six. The partnership ended at 470 for seven, having set the second-highest partnership for the seventh wicket in first class cricket history. The pair batted through the first two sessions without the loss of a wicket as they continued Australia's rescue mission and recorded their own personal milestones.

On Monday, India A declared at 475 for nine, after Naman Ojha slammed a career-best 219 not out. In reply, the Australians lost five wickets in the day's last session with Jasprit Bumrah taking 3 wickets for 42.

However, Day 3 belonged to the Aussie middle-order. Whiteman raised his bat for his maiden first class century before finally departing for 174 (278 balls) off the spin of Karun Nair. Marsh celebrated his first double-ton in style, smashing a six to bring up the milestone. He was eventually run out for 211 (294 balls) with only five overs remaining in the day.

Ben Cutting wasted no time adding to Australia's total. He hit the first ball to the boundary and made a quick-fire 11 from 14 balls before being bowled by Jasprit Bumrah. At close of play, the not out batsmen for Australia A were Cameron Boyce (16) and Chadd Sayers (3).
