Bravo Brothers, Sunil Narine Bag Top West Indian Honours


Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Dwayne Bravo, Darren Bravo and Sunil Narine were awarded for their consistency in Tests, ODIs and T20Is respectively in 2013.



The West Indies Cricket Board has honoured Shivnarine Chanderpaul, the Bravo brothers and Sunil Narine for their consistent performance in the 2013 season.


The 39-year-old Chanderpaul, a veteran of 153 Tests, scored 523 runs from seven matches at an average of 55.11, with two hundreds to win the Test Player of the Year award, while Dwayne Bravo (388 runs and 33 wickets) was named the ODI player of the Year. Mystery spinner Narine was awarded with the T20 cricketer of the year after taking eight wickets from five games at a miserly economy rate of 5.40.


Stylish left-handed batsman Darren Bravo won the Cricketer of the Year award with 374 runs in six Tests and. He was also the best West Indian batsman in ODIs, amassing 788 runs in 24 games.


Spinners Nikita Miller and Shane Shilligford were also rewarded for their first-class and limited overs performances respectively. Miller had travelled with the West Indies A squad to India last year and had a successful tour ahead of the two-Test series between India and West Indies in November.
