NEW DELHI: During IPL's workshop in Singapore last year in November, the IPL governing council had suggested a fee of around Rs 2 crore each for uncapped Indian cricketers who would be retained by their teams.
But former Indian captains - Rahul Dravid and Anil Kumble raised the bar for them.
Sources said that both Dravid and Kumble had suggested that the fee should be Rs 4 crore for every uncapped player who is retained by his team. Based on their suggestions, the IPL governing council raised the fee amount from Rs 2 to Rs 4 crore.
